Tonya is a native North Carolinian. She grew up in Greensboro and, after high school, attended Appalachian State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Advertising. After school, she worked for years in the business world for companies including Newell Rubbermaid, the Material Handling Industry of America, and Wells Fargo.

While at Appalachian, she met her husband Patrick, and the couple married in 2003. They have three children - Graham, Madelyn, and Annalise. Most recently, Tonya has been at home with them but is excited to step into a new chapter and join the Care and Connection Team at Five Stones. She is passionate about meeting new people and building relationships. She believes a warm, welcoming, and loving environment is essential and loves to help people feel welcome and connected. She loves Jesus’ words in this verse as it relates to others: “My command is this: love one another just as I have loved you.” John 15:12

She enjoys spending time with family and friends in her free time, studying God’s word, volunteering in the community, listening to podcasts, reading, and always loves a good cup of coffee!
