Five Stones is Turning 1!: Five Stones is celebrating it’s ONE YEAR birthday on Sunday, September 19th. We are excited to celebrate all that God has done through Five Stones since we launched one year ago. Come and celebrate with us at our Birthday Bash on Sunday, September 19th at 10:30. Life Groups will launch on Tuesday, September 21st and will end on November 23rd. Confirmation emails of what life group you are assigned to will be emailed once registration is complete. Baptism Celebration – We will celebrate several Five Stones individuals as we celebrate what God is doing in their lives through baptism. We will hold our Baptism Celebration on September 12th at 10:30AM. If you are interested in or have questions about being baptized, contact us atlwilson@fivestoneschurch.com

Next Step Lunch: Have you been visiting Five Stones and completed the Hang Five Challenge? Is this something you want to get caught up in and live out? If so, then we invite you to a Next Step lunch. Our staff will be there, we will talk candidly about Five Stones, our conversation will be informal and hopefully you will leave with a very clear next step. No gimmicks, no pressure…however we do guarantee that you will walk away both encouraged and challenged.

Summit Takes on a New Look!: We had 96 students this past Sunday for our 2nd week of Summit! Remember students, we do not meet this Sunday (September 5th), but will resume our normal schedule on September 12th. iddle Schoolers meet from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm and High Schoolers Meet from 6:15-8:30 pm.

If you haven’t, then it is time for you to experience the joy of making a difference in others lives. We are busy preparing for our 2nd year of ministry at Five Stones. This is a great time to get plugged into one our teams. Teams include Wonder Zone, Discover Factory, Summit, Worship, Signage, Guest Services, Hospitality, Family Team… and much more! 4 Heaven’s Sake: Has your Kindergarten – Fifth Grader been asking questions about what it means to have a personal relationship with Christ or baptism? Then bring your child to 4 Heaven’s Sake this Sunday (August 29th) at 9:00 am (Cafeteria) where we equip you to explain these things to your child. Summit Takes on a New Look!: Wow! We had 50 Middle Schoolers & 35 High Schoolers at the Five Stones office this past Sunday as we kicked off our first night of Summit! It was a great night of fellowship, hanging out, food and growing in our relationship with our Creator. If you have a student we would love for them to join us! Middle School students meet at the Five Stones office from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm and High School Students will meet from 6:15 pm – 8:30 pm! Moving on Up: All Preschoolers & Students will “move on up” tomorrow to their new classroom! You should have received a card in the mail this week with your new room number. Preschoolers (Babies-5 year olds) are located on the 6th & 8th grade hallway. Children (Grades K-5) will meet in the Cafeteria. Check with the Family Team at the computer check in if you are not sure where to go.

Rising Kindergarten Students to Discover Factory: Rising Kindergarten Students will be joining Discover Factory on Sunday, August 22nd when we promote all children & students to the next grade! Kindergarten Students and Parents are invited to come and check out Discover Factory on Sunday, August 15th at 9:00 am in the cafeteria. Mandy Weaver (team leader) will give you an overview of Discover Factory, kids will get to check out the Discover Factory environment, meet the small group leaders, and much more!

Calling All Transitional Kindergarten Students: Wonder Zone is making a new room just for our TK Friends beginning August 22nd! If your child is currently in WonderZone and will be in Transitional Kindergarten in the Fall, please email Leslie at lwilson@fivestoneschurch.com so we can add your TK’er to this new class!

Life Group Leadership Opportunities – Would you consider opening your home to a Life Group once a week for 10 weeks beginning in September? We would love for you to be a Life Group Host Home! Wanted… A few men with shovels!: We are having a load of mulch delivered to the school to enhance the front landscape areas of the school. If you would like to serve Cuthbertson by spreading mulch on the evening of Monday, August 9th (6:00 pm), please sign up at the Engage Culture Kiosk on Sunday. With lots of helping hands and shovels, it should not take long to make the entrance to the school look great for the start of another school year!

Five Stones Low Down… Be in the Know!
Week of July 11th

Opening for Worship Team: Five Stones Church is currently looking for an experienced Keyboard player to join the Worship Team! Candidate would need to have experience playing by ear as well as off of chord charts. Must be motivated to practice at home on their own time as well as with the band. Professionalism and an audition is required. If you are up for the challenge and have the experience, please contact Heath Nestor at hnestor@fivestoneschurch.com

If you haven’t, then it is time for you to experience the joy of making a difference in others lives. Each week we are highlighting an opportunity for you to join one of our Teams that make Five Stones happen each week. It is simple, give it a try for 3 weeks… yep, only 3 weeks. See if it is a good fit or not.
This week’s opportunity is our Signage Team! We believe that one of the keys to a good visit by a new family is their ability to navigate our buildings easily. And… one of the ways they do is by directional signage. And.. we have a lot of signs (both interior and exterior). Would you be willing to help set up our interior or exterior signs? Five Stones University… only 5 spots remaining!: Five Stones University is a chance for those attending Five Stones to take their next step with God by going deeper in His Word. We will run Five Stones University in between our Life Group Semesters. We will be working through the book “Christian Beliefs: Twenty Basics That Every Christian Should Know” in five week intervals throughout 2010-2011. Greg will be the primary teacher during this 5 week period. We will meet every Monday night in August at the Five Stones Office from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Bring your own dinner or join several of us as we get take out from Mama Lena’s. We will then eat together and begin our session. This will provide a perfect balance of sharing life and applying truth . All that is required is the book “Christian Beliefs: Twenty Basics That Every Christian Should Know. The book is only $10.00. The Danger of Urban Legends: Do you know someone who’s seen Bigfoot’s tracks? What about Nessie in Loch Ness? Of course, almost every kid has learned that there really are alligators in the sewer. You know how it goes: someone sees something and tells someone who then tells someone else. On and on and on it goes until its hard to separate fact from fiction. This doesn’t just happen with alligators and Bigfoot… it happens with spiritual truths as well. Join us as we separate fact from fiction and debunk spiritual myths. We will be working through the book by Larry Osbourne “10 Dumb Things Smart Christians Believe” for this unique Summer Series. Join us this Sunday at Five Stones as we talk about the legend, Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide..
